Make School, the San Francisco coding-education company, needed their GraphQL API refactored (grown organically, due for structure) without stopping product development.
What I did
- Lead developer on the Rails/JavaScript stack
- Refactored the GraphQL API for consistency and performance while features kept shipping
- Worked remotely and embedded with their team
How it went
Shipped. Refactoring a live API is like renovating an occupied house: doable, satisfying, and a very good test of both your GraphQL and your communication.
